Hi, I am Kendal. Mother to 3 wild and tiny humans and Life Partner to the most amazing soul. I live, work, love and exist on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Katzie + sc̓əwaθenaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsawwassen), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and all of the Halkomelem speaking peoples. I grew up on rainy days and warm baths where the forests meet the oceans. I look forward to my first cup of coffee before I go to bed, and rain or shine you can find me going for long walks with my ear buds + favourite podcast plugged in. My Dad was a hobby photographer and I loved pouring over the many photo albums my parents kept in the house growing up. The kind of albums that you can remember the smell of with those faded photos from the 70's, 80's and 90's. I bought my first "big camera" while living in Australia, over 10 years ago, and haven't put it down since. Photographing births for nearly 6 years taught me so much about capturing connections and really opened up my passion for documenting life from a non-traditional point of view. |
